🇯🇵 Important Notice for Visa Applicants from Nepal

You cannot apply directly at the Japanese Embassy with a COE

📝 Background

In many countries, once a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is issued in Japan, the applicant can directly apply for a visa at the Japanese embassy or consulate.
However, in Nepal, the process is different due to a bilateral Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) between the governments of Japan and Nepal. This agreement aims to ensure transparency, prevent exploitation by unauthorized intermediaries, and facilitate proper labor migration.

📌 Visa Application Procedure in Nepal

  1. Obtain the COE from Japan
  2. Submit the COE and required documents to a government-designated Visa Processing Agency in Nepal
  3. The agency checks and prepares your application
  4. The agency submits the visa application to the Japanese Embassy on your behalf
  5. Once approved, you receive your passport and visa and begin travel preparations
