In Japan, four settlement-based statuses of residence generally allow work without job-type restrictions: Permanent Resident, Spouse or Child of Japanese National, Spouse or Child of Permanent Resident, and Long-Term Resident. This article explains the differences from Dependent status and the role of permission for activities outside status.
