In April 2026, Japan’s Immigration Services Agency reportedly presented new benchmark figures during Diet deliberations, including around ¥30,000 for a 1-year period of stay and around ¥60,000 for a 3-year period. However, these are not yet final or effective fees. The current legal process is to raise the statutory ceiling first and then set the actual amounts later by Cabinet Order.
